You may have recently seen or heard information about a new way to conduct elections: Ranked Choice Voting. Some organizations (such as FairVote Illinois) are promoting this extreme change to our voting system as a way to “fix politics”, “put voters first”, “give voters more voice and more choice”, “the way for the majority to have their voices heard”, etc.
THE TRUTH: Ranked Choice Voting is a scheme to manipulate our elections and tilt them to favor one party. The push for RCV is highly-funded by dark money from wealthy elite individuals who think they know better than We the People and that our precious U.S. Constitution should be ignored.

A recent study of RCV by the Foundation for Government Accountability (download here) reveals these Key Findings:
- Ranked-choice voting’s track record is the best argument against it.
- Ranked-choice voting requires that legitimate voters’ ballots be thrown in the trash when no candidate receives a majority of the vote.
- Candidates with the most votes often lose while those receiving as little as four percent of the vote win, diminishing voter confidence in elections.
- Ranked-choice voting leads to errors and delayed results lasting weeks, or even months.
- Legislation supporting ranked-choice voting is overwhelmingly sponsored by Democrats.
THE BOTTOM LINE: To protect voters and their ballots, states should follow the lead of Florida, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Tennessee and ban ranked-choice voting.
